Industry Involvement: Spill Control Association of America

Clean Rivers Cooperative maintains involvement in a number of industry associations and groups. We do this in order to ensure that the Cooperative and its membership are aware of all matters that are related to spill response. Certain associations, such as the Spill Control Association of America (SCAA) promote the interests of all groups within the spill response community. The organization’s  membership spans the entire United States, and routinely supports industry clients and state & federal governmental agencies.

SCAA hosted a two day Partnership Action Team meeting between SCAA and APICOM  representatives on October 20th and 21st, 2022 which Clean Rivers attended. These meetings provided opportunity for representatives to engage with organizations including the EPA, PHMSA, USCG, NOAA. These meetings included as topics of discussion operational updates, key items related to response, and review of regulatory matters. The meetings were followed up by a debrief, conducted on December 8th in which Brian House, Executive Director provided an overview of the key items from the meetings. A recording of that meeting is included below. Staff have access to the meeting presentations as well as minutes from the meeting.

SCAA provides staff and the Cooperative as a whole a valuable resource to ensure readiness and planning for the future.
