Comprehensive Services & Equipment

Clean Rivers is unparalleled in the region in the depth and breadth of our spill response services.

One of the Largest Response Equipment Inventories in the Northwest. Clean Rivers can provide the most comprehensive response available. Our equipment is purchased for the exclusive benefit of our members.

Guaranteed Two-Hour Response. Our experienced contractors can provide up to 48 trained personnel within two hours of an incident.

Response Partners. Clean Rivers is associated with the foremost maritime organizations in the Northwest. We pool resources with the Maritime Fire & Safety Association (MFSA), which provides oil spill contingency planning for vessels on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Sharing the purchase and responsibility for this equipment results in lowered costs to the members of Clean Rivers.

Extensive Coverage. Our equipment is staged at 14 locations along the Columbia and Willamette Rivers, focused especially on environmentally sensitive areas. This means spill response will be quick and efficient, ensuring that the right equipment is dispatched to the right place.

Wildlife Response. Clean Rivers and MFSA co-own and operate a state-of-the-art bird rehabilitation trailer, the only one of this caliber in the nation, and a wildlife transportation unit. The newest addition to our wildlife response capabilities is a 570 square foot bird rehabilitation tent with technologies such as heating and air-conditioning, lighting and electrical. Our relationship with the International Bird Research and Rescue Center guarantees that this region’s prized wildlife will be properly and prudently cared for.

More than Spill Response. Members of Clean Rivers receive monthly training, including HAZWOPER and the Incident Command System, as well as personnel and equipment needed for annual drills required by law.

Regional Relationships. We’ve spent more than 30 years building relationships with the U.S. Coast Guard, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, and the Washington Department of Ecology. These agencies all recognize that members of Clean Rivers have reliable and effective spill response plans.
